Slothy – Today & Tomorrow Tasks

Overview

Slothy (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle your information.

Information We Collect

We do not collect personal data.

All task data stays on your device:

• Tasks: Titles, emoji, and completion status
• Settings: Task limit per list, notification preferences, and usage counters (e.g. tasks completed, procrastinated)

We never have access to your task content or personal information.

Anonymous Analytics

We use Aptabase and, from version 2.2.0, PostHog, two analytics services hosted in the European Union, to understand how the app is used in aggregate. Both receive exactly the same events listed below. This helps us improve Slothy.

What is tracked:

• App opened
• Device language
• Approximate country and region, worked out from the connection when an event arrives. The IP address itself is not stored
• Onboarding started and completed
• Task created, completed, moved, or deleted (event only — no task content)
• Reminder enabled or disabled
• An installation ID: sixteen random bytes generated on first run and stored on your device. It is not derived from your hardware or from anything about you, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app. Without it we cannot tell whether the same phone came back the next day, which is the only way to know whether the app is worth keeping.

What is NOT tracked:

• No personal data (name, email, phone, etc.)
• No IP addresses (Aptabase does not store them, and PostHog is set to discard them)
• No location: PostHog’s IP-based location lookup is switched off
• No screen recordings and no automatic capture of taps or screens
• No hardware identifiers such as Android ID, IMEI, MAC address or advertising ID
• No task titles or content

Analytics data carries no name, email or hardware identifier, so we cannot work out who you are from it. Both services are GDPR-compliant and host data in the European Union. PostHog keeps no identifier of its own on your device: its session id lives only while the app is open. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings → Anonymous usage stats. Where Your Data Is Stored

• Task data is stored only on your device (local storage / AsyncStorage)
• We do not have access to your tasks or settings
• Uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device
• Anonymous analytics data is stored by Aptabase and PostHog on servers in the European Union

Notifications

• Slothy can send local notifications as daily reminders
• Notifications are opt-in — you choose to enable them during onboarding or in settings
• Notification scheduling happens entirely on your device
• No push notification tokens are sent to our servers

Third Parties

• Aptabase (analytics) — privacy-first, EU-hosted, no personal data collected. Privacy policy
• PostHog (analytics, from version 2.2.0): EU-hosted, receives the same anonymous events as Aptabase, IP addresses discarded, no recordings. Privacy policy
• RevenueCat (purchases) — manages your purchase and subscription status. Slothy has no sign-up, so RevenueCat assigns an anonymous app user ID to the install and receives your purchase history and basic device information. It never receives your tasks. Privacy policy
• Apple App Store / Google Play — process the payment itself. We never see your payment details
• We do not use advertising SDKs
• We do not sell or share your data

Identifiers

Two identifiers leave the device: the analytics installation ID described above, and the anonymous app user ID that RevenueCat assigns to the install. Neither is tied to your name, your email or your hardware, and both disappear when you uninstall the app. This is what our Google Play Data safety declaration lists as “Device or other IDs”, collected for app functionality and analytics, and never shared with other companies for their own purposes.

Data Deletion

Slothy keeps your tasks on your device only, so deleting them is immediate and entirely in your hands:

• Your tasks, statistics and settings: open Slothy and go to Settings → Reset app, or uninstall Slothy. Both remove everything from the device straight away. There is no copy on any server, so nothing is left behind and no retention period applies.
• Anonymous usage statistics: turn them off at any time in Settings → Anonymous usage stats. Nothing further is sent, including the installation ID. Data already collected carries no name, email or hardware identifier, so we cannot work out who you are from it. To ask us to delete the events tied to your installation ID, email dot.systems@proton.me and we will handle the request within 30 days.
• Purchases: your purchase is held by Apple or Google against your store account, not by us. Deleting it is done through the store, and removing it would also remove your access to what you paid for.

Your Rights

• You can delete all local data by uninstalling the app
• Analytics data carries no name, email or hardware identifier, so it cannot be linked to you

Children’s Privacy

Slothy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
